Let me tell you a truthful myth to understand Mind Tricks. How many minds a person may have? Maybe 10, 20, or more based on the voices in your head. It’s the mind that confuses you all the time. It’s the mind that stops you every morning from leaving bed, It’s the mind that gets stuck with watching Instagram reels the whole day, It’s the mind that doesn’t let students study, it’s the mind that always wants to eat junk food, It’s the mind who brings stress or anxiety, It’s the mind which brings divorce, It’s the mind which enjoys drinking, It’s the mind which wants one more holiday from work or school and many more problems which only our mind have raised. So now you have come this far, you may wonder for more facts or I can say the problems which I mentioned above. But what if I say that whatever I wrote before is all a myth? (Read the first line again).
The above Paragraph is about how you perceive your mind as a house of problems, but it’s not. In reality, it’s a house of worship. You may be wondering how it’s the house of worship. I will explain this, firstly I will answer the question above in the first paragraph how many minds do we have, so the answer is, that we have only one mind, and that one mind is divided into distinctive segments, known as conscious and subconscious mind, subjective and objective mind and many more terms we use for this. But don’t worry, I will not confuse you in terminology, we will proceed with simplicity. The conscious mind is the mind which is responsible for logical thinking, i.e. what is right or what is wrong. The Subconscious mind is responsible for your actions and reactions to a particular situation or a thing. Let’s understand this with an example:
There were two girls who were preparing themselves for the music concert as they were having their singing performance. They both prepared well and made up their mind that they would definitely win today. But the climax is when someone from outside comes and tells both the girls that they can’t sing today because someone else is gonna win. After listening to this one girl she lost her confidence and kept on thinking that what if I lose? On the other side, another girl just maintained her confidence and said “No matter what, I will sing and I will win”. So here’s a miracle happens, the girl who is thinking of winning is announced as a winner and the others get lost.
Hope you have gone through the story properly and if not read it again. So the question is why did one girl win and the other got lost, even also they practiced together the same. The reason behind it is their thinking process. When a person from outside came and said that you couldn’t sing, one girl took it as negative and she left her thought of winning, she kept on repeating what if I lose? She was not aware of this thing that whatever you accept consciously, your subconscious will implement that. As she keeps on repeating the negative, the negative thought has taken the place consciously in her mind. The negative thoughts dominated the positive ones. And remember, whatever is dominating will win. So in her mind negative dominates the positive and her subconscious accepts the negative because our subconscious doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong and implemented the negative command or I can say reacted in a negative way. On the other hand, the girl who won has only one thought of winning, she does not even lose her confidence after listening to the negative. So in her mind, she consciously accepted that she would win and so the subconscious implemented it in a positive way.
The subconscious mind acts as a servant to the conscious mind. The conscious mind is like a direction provider to the subconscious mind and the subconscious will follow that direction.
From the above example, we have seen that the root cause is what we think. What we think consciously will work as an order to the subconscious mind and it will implement it accordingly, no matter whether it’s positive or negative. What we think is based on our daily activities, whatever we feed our mind it will think accordingly.
